Serve Day is a day designated for churches, businesses, and agencies to serve together across Ventura County. ACTION finds needs within our communities and matches volunteers to local projects.
So from the senior who got her yard weeded in order to avoid a city fine, from the children in foster care who got to celebrate their birthday, from the women in the transitional living home who got freshly painted bedrooms, from the disabled veteran who got a wheelchair ramp for his home, from the children at school who got a mural to remind them they are loved, from all of those that were visited, comforted, and prayed for, and from all of us at ACTION, thank you. You make us better.
ONE DAY, HUGE IMPACT.
Nearly 8,000 Ventura County neighbors are impacted by Serve Day projects. Projects focus on serving seniors, residents in transitional homes, low-income families, foster families and people with disabilities.
Serve Day projects range from completing yard work for a senior couple to painting murals at local elementary schools! In 2019, 130 projects were held at 130+ project sites!
1,900 volunteers from across Ventura County show up to complete projects for their neighbors in need. Families, co-workers, friends, and church members working side by side bring their unique gifts and talents to each project.
Churches, businesses and agencies partner together to make a lasting impact for those in need. In 2019, 57 community organizations sponsored projects in their neighborhoods. And the relationships made on Serve Day have deepend throughout the year!
